I was you. I am you.

I was at my high-paying corporate job in the supply closet, pumping milk on my lunch break for my daughter, who was at home with a babysitter while I was at the office. In the midst of nursing, working, and surviving the baby phase of motherhood, I thought, “There’s got to be better support out there for working moms and ambitious women.

That’s why, after working for a series of multinational corporations, I founded my first business in 2010. Lis Thomas Content scaled quickly, and within two years, I was making more money monthly than the corporate salary I had been offered. I founded a series of other successful ventures while working to grow partner brands and (most importantly) spending time with my growing family.

I don’t believe in limiting your dreams. That’s why I’m a believer in calculated risk for the right reasons and the right dreams.

Without these risks, I never would have started three thriving businesses, which have led to:

  • Becoming a Podcast Cohost

  • Creating a Public Relations & Brand Strategy Collaborative.

  • Launching Womanhood Unwrapped

Team

  • Elisabeth (Lis) Thomas launched the Womanhood Unwrapped community after years of struggling and learning as a working mom. The idea started in a supply closet when she was pumping milk on her lunch break for her daughter who was at home with a babysitter while she was at the office. In the midst of that nursing, working, and surviving the baby phase of motherhood, Lis thought, “there’s got to better support out there for working moms and ambitious women.

After trying out a variety of different roles with her two kiddos, and realizing they just didn’t work with family life, Lis finally launched the blog and community she had envisioned years earlier.

  • Casey Cowan Smith is a social media marketer with over a decade of experience spearheading communication and sales strategies. Tenacious, goal-driven, and self-reflective, Casey obsesses over the details while keeping big-picture goals at the forefront of every project.
