Planning Your Fall Like a CEO (Even if You’re Still Packing Lunches)
Summer has slipped away, and all of a sudden it’s fall. The school routines are back, the days are getting shorter, and your calendar fills before you’ve even had a chance to breathe. My life starts to look like juggling work deadlines with snack duty and squeezing in client calls between soccer practices.
It can feel like a lot (trust me, I know), but here is the truth: you don’t just have to survive this fall season. With the right mindset and a few intention shifts, you can step into the fall like a CEO, even if you are still making the sandwiches at 7 am.
Being a CEO isn’t all about running a multi-million dollar business. It’s about approaching your life and work with clarity, confidence, and systems to support you. Here is what I’ve left over the years to help plan your fall with CEO energy.
Goal Setting with Clarity
CEO’s don’t drift through quarters hoping that things work out. They prioritize clarity; they set clear goals, track progress, and adjust as needed. So, we’re going to do the same, even if your boardroom is your kitchen table!
Step One: Ask yourself: What matters most this season? It might be finishing a project at work, launching a side hustle, or simply creating more calm at home.
Step Two: Instead of having a long, overwhelming list, try choosing 2-3 goals for fall. I like to think of them as my “fall priorities”. Write them down, and revisit them weekly.
Step Three: Don’t be afraid to adjust or change goals from the summer or the beginning of the year. Some goals might not be aligned with you at this current moment, and that’s okay. Let’s make goals that represent who you are and what you want to become!
When you get clear on your goals, your daily choices stop feeling random. They start to become aligned steps towards the life you’re building.

Owning Your Space: Brand Presence
Every CEO knows their brand matters. But let me tell you something: you have a brand too. It‘s how you show up to the world, online, at work, or even at the school pick-up line.
Your brand presence is the impression you leave with others. It’s not all about being polished or perfect (unless that is your brand), but it’s about being yourself.
Here are my top three tips to strengthen your brand this fall:
Look over your online spaces. Does your social media, LinkedIn, or website reflect where you’re heading, or is it still speaking in the tone of the old you?
Refresh how you introduce yourself. Are you actually sharing what you do and why it matters? If you were to stumble across your page, could you easily identify your mission?
Align your voice. Are you showing up consistently? Is your messaging scrambled and different across platforms? Put yourself in your audience’s shoes, can you clearly see what you are communicating?
Not only will owning your space strengthen your brand presence, but it will also help you build trust, value, and conversions, eventually leading to dominating the market.
Protect Your Energy Like an Asset
You might think a CEO’s most valuable resource is money, but what if I told you that it’s time and energy? The same goes for you as well, but using boundaries is a way to protect this resource before it becomes unavailable.
Boundaries aren’t selfish; they are sustainable. They make sure you have the energy to show up where you’re needed most, delivering the best possible outcome for everyone.
This fall, don’t be scared to say no. Think about times you have said “yes” far too quickly, left with 100 extra jobs to do alongside everything else on your plate. This could be protecting your workday from unnecessary meetings, setting up tech-free hours so you can actually rest, or maybe limiting extracurricular activities for the kids so your evenings aren’t stretched thin.
It will look different to everyone, but you know what works for you.
